Dave Grohl, What Are You Doing Man?!

Dave Grohl, what are you doing man? 

I thought you were smarter than this. But picking on Taylor Swift, with her ravenous fan base just wasn’t smart, especially if what you said is as inaccurate as it seems.

I understand you were just trying to be your likable, funny self when you joked about your band the Foo Fighters calling your current tour the “Errors Tour because of all the errors you make when performing.” It was funny in your usual dad-humor kind of way and had it ended there would’ve been a fun poke at the massively popular Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. But then you said you and your bandmates make the errors because y’all play live insinuating that Swift’s band does not. 

​That was your mistake Dave! It seems Swift’s band does play live, at least according to her, and Swift never being the kind to simply shake it off called you out for it at her next show in the U.K.

But you know what, Dave? You deserved that man. If you’re going to make a point your point had better be correct. 

So, what’s going to happen now is you’ll get dragged by many people online. People who perhaps never would’ve been fans of the Foo Fighters, but they also might have been and now likely won’t be. 

Do I care? No, not really. I’ve been a fan of yours for over 20 years now. I’ve had the blast of seeing you and the Foos in concert. I’d rather watch you and your band on tour than Taylor Swift. It merely comes down to my musical preferences. 

But you also had a reputation as one of the nicest guys in show biz. And this, while in jest, may have harmed that reputation a little bit. Should it? No, not really. You’re still the guy who goes out and cooks BBQ for the homeless. But now you’ll also be known as the cranky old fart who took a swing at Taylor Swift and missed. And that fan base may never let you live it down. 

You’re a legend, Dave! But I truly thought you were smarter than this.
